Round 4: Ch 1, 3 sc in corner, sc in next 23 st. *3 sc in corner st, sc in next 24 st.* Repeat ** around. Join.

Now that the corners are clearly seen …

Check off when round is complete:   5   6   7

Round 8 (creating armholes): Ch 1, sc across straight edge to next corner. At corner, ch 7, skip that whole straight edge, then sc at next corner. Sc in each st across until reaching next corner. Ch 7, skip that whole straight edge, then sc at next corner. Do not join.

Detail of Bit Jazzier DressRound 23: Ch 1, sc in same st. Sc around, join.

Round 24: *Ch 3, skip next st, sc in next st.* Repeat from * to * around, end with ch 3, skip next st, sl st to join.

Round 25: Sl st in ch-3 sp, ch 3, 3 dc in same sp. *Sc in next ch-3 sp, 4 dc in next sp.* Repeat from * to * around, ending with sc in last sp. Sl st to beg-ch-3.

Round 26: *Ch 3, sc between 2nd and 3rd dc, ch 3, sc in sc.* Repeat from * to * around, ending with ch 3, join with sl st to beg-ch-3.

Round 27: Ch 1, sl st into ch-3 sp, *ch 3, sc in next sp.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with sl st.

Round 28: Ch 3, 3 dc into same sp. *Sc into next sp, 4 dcs into next sp.* Repeat from * to * around. Sl st to join.

In Round 28, you may find it ends unevenly, with an extra loop or a missing loop. Just do the next repeat (either dcs or sc) to make it repeat uniformly. The give and pattern of the fabric hides any inconsistencies, at least to an imperfectionist like me. Smile

Rounds 29-37: Repeat Rounds 26-28 three times.

For Tunic Top: Finish off, weave in ends.

See Finishing Note.

For Dress: Continue the pattern repeat.

Rounds 38-46: Repeat Rounds 26-28 three more times.

Finish off, weave in ends.

Finishing Note:

At the neckline, the 6” tail you left at the beginning of your foundation chain waits your command.

Use this tail to pull that little gap you see together, by slip stitching and weaving in the end.

REALITY CHECK:  Peace doesn’t always come in the package we expect it to.  Jesus is a gentle Shepherd who leads us beside still waters, as well as calls us to live as warriors in a spiritual battle.  He wears many hats, has many roles, which makes me realize: He understands parenthood.
