Do you ever wonder if God cares? About you? I have it on good authority, He does.
He cares about sparrows and rainbows and floods and sheep fleece.
And He cares about yarn.
“I have some yarn for you.”
“Can I bring a couple of skeins by your house on my way to the dentist?”
Oh yes, thank you!!
“I have some fabric for you.”
[Momentary fear of the sewing machine]
Thank you!! This must mean I need to keep sewing!
“Can you use stuffing?”
Oh, yes, thank you!! I actually prayed for stuffing recently!
“I have something for you. Can you use elastic?”
Oh, please, yes, thank you!!
I didn’t pray for some of these items specifically, but I did ask for whatever I need to serve Him in my crafting, so I trust His leading by His provision.
Maybe to make more pillowcase dresses? Or doll dresses? Or matching doll and little girl dresses?
[Reality Check: Sewing is on hold until health challenges permit.]
Every time I begin to wonder …
- Am I spending my time wisely?
- Am I doing what God would want me to do? Should I be looking at doing something else?
He Answers With Crafting Supplies
God answers my query with yarn. Or fabric. Even stuffing and elastic! So I’m trusting that means I’ll be back at the pedal.
Sometimes I ask Him for specific supplies, sometimes I just mention “I’d like to make …”.
Sometimes I just leave the details to Him. And always He provides.
Enough for today, enough to share and plenty left for tomorrow!
What Comfort to Know We are Cared For
If God knows our hearts’ desire for crafting to share His love and compassion, then certainly He knows our other needs. And He will continue to provide. Every time. All the time.
“”Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”
Matthew 6:26 NKJV
Are you, yourself, not of more value than a skein of yarn?
If He cares about yarn,
how much more does He care about you?
Many thanks to all those who have shared their crafting supplies to keep my hands busy for Him.
