Now that we have a Happy Bracelet, we need a Bit Jazzier Happy Bracelet! It’s not uber-jazzier, it’s just a bit jazzier so it still works up really quickly.
Make a Bit Jazzier Happy Bracelet
- Worsted weight yarn (I use a lot of Red Heart Super Saver)
- Tapestry needle (eye + yarn needs to fit through bead)
- 7 plastic pony beads (Hobby Lobby has lots of colors!)
- Crochet hook (I used an I hook)
Begin almost as for Happy Bracelet, like this:
First, thread 7 pony beads on a ball/skein of yarn using a tapestry needle. Remove the tapestry needle and pick up your crochet hook.
Row 1: Chain 3. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in last ch. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: Sc in 1st sc. Slide bead up near hook. Sc in next sc catching the yarn for the yo just past the bead so the bead pops to back (which is the right side of the bracelet). Ch 1, turn.
The first bead is in!
Now it gets a wee bit jazzier …
Row 3: Sc in each st, ch 4, turn.
Row 4: Sl st in last stitch of previous row (the ch-4 makes the new “row”). Turn without making a turning chain.
Row 5: 2 sc in ch-4 sp, ch 1, turn.
Row 6: Sc in 1st st, pull bead up, sc in last st. Ch 1, turn. Repeat pattern, Rows 3-6, until all 7 beads are used.
Repeat Rows 3-5 once more.
Continue along long side edge with sc in between stitches.
At the short edge on the end, put 2 sc in ea st to turn the corners.
Sc in ea st up the 2nd side.
Connect short edges together with a sl st in ea st right sides together.
Flip right side out and you have a Bit Jazzier Happy Bracelet!
Super quick gifts for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes these are!
