10! It Begins! Operation Christmas Child Countdown

OCC Countdown 10

I can’t tell you how long I’ve been doing this shoebox thing.

Ok, confession. That’s because I can’t remember such things very well. Even my kids’ ages I have to extrapolate from their birth year. We all have our gifts. Remembering years is not one of mine. (I think that’s why I forget I’m not 28 anymore when I hang around young adults. Smile )

Speaking of gifts, have you heard of Operation Christmas Child?

WAIT! STOP! Don’t Click Away!

Operation Christmas Child is Different

Operation Christmas Child is different. It’s not an entitlement program giving stuff to those who have an overabundance of stuff.

It’s about a child somewhere in the world, many times in crisis or dire need, receiving a small shoebox filled with toys, school supplies, hygiene items and the most important message they will ever receive: Jesus died for their sins.

Yes. That.

Not just “Jesus loves you, here’s some stuff.”

Jesus died, was raised and He lives. There is hope.

The Message of the Shoebox

Shoebox

Jesus died. To forgive you.

He was raised. To change you from the inside out.

He lives. To help you.

Now that’s worth counting down about. Smile
