Meet Real Life Alex, Part 4: Crossing the Front Line

In between Operation Christmas Child countdown posts, I will be sharing details from my real life meeting with Alex Nsengimana, Rwandan genocide survivor and shoebox recipient.

For two months, children ran.

And ran for their lives.

Alex and his remaining family ran.

And then they crossed a line.

It wasn’t a visible line.

They didn’t realize they had crossed the line.

They were just running.

Soldiers approached.

No uniforms.

No identifying badges.

With guns.

The running stopped.

They were safe.

They had crossed the front line.

It’s Your Turn

Have you crossed the spiritual front line?

Have you fully faced, front on, the cross of Jesus Christ?

Do you believe He took the bullet of God’s holiness and justice for you?

Or …

Are you running away from the front line of the cross?

Are you trying to save yourself?

 Or …

Having received the eternal safety offered at the cross, are you still terrified of those chasing you with legalistic fears that you aren’t far enough through the front line to be truly saved?

If you cross the front line at the foot of Christ’s cross in faith, trusting that Jesus became the target of God’s justice on your behalf, you are safe.

Don’t take my word for it. Take God’s.

Alex learned over time to rest in that peace.

Will we?
